Several Lions of Kentucky donated funds during the MD-43 State Convention in May, 2019 to honor the new KLEF Executive Director with a Finis Davis Fellowship and a Life Patron pin. Recently at the August 10th KLEF Trustee Meeting, KLEF President Mark Webster and Immediate Past President, ID Shea Nickell presented the Finis Davis plaque to Lindy.
This Fellowship was created to honor the memory of KY’s first and only President of Lions Club International. Finis Davis served as President of LCI in 1960-61 and then in 1967-68 he was President of the KY Lions Eye Foundation. He spearheaded the drive to raise the first two million dollars to build the KY Lions Eye Research Institute, which is now a world-class center.
These fellowships are awarded as a recognition for dedication and service provided by the recipients.
