Are you legally blind and need assistance?
Those who are low income, legally blind and living in Jefferson or a surrounding county can apply for assistance with almost anything from the Holloran Fund. The funds are dispersed to help at the discretion of the Holloran Committee members. In the past people have applied for:
-
Low Vision Equipment / Aids
-
Household repair / appliances / installment of accessibility equipment
-
TARC tickets / transportation assistance
-
Medical expenses / dental expenses
To apply for the Holloran Program complete the application.
Because of the geographic and other restrictions of the Holloran Fund many people are not qualified. If you or your loved one are one of these people please see the resource list to the right.
Many people who are low vision may not be legally blind, therefore not qualify for assistance from the Holloran Fund.
For those looking for assistance devices such as large print calendars, talking clocks, etc. a great resource is www.independentliving.com. This site offers low-vision aids, tools and technology. The products are easy to order through the online store and will be conventiently delivered to your door.
