VOLUNTEER
KLEF is always looking for volunteers to help with our vision screening programs. No medical or screening experience is needed. We provide hands on training and our screening equipment is easy to learn and fun to use. A background check is required for all KidSight Program volunteers. CORPORATE SUPPORT
KLEF is supported by financial donations from Lions Clubs, the public and corporate sponsorships of our annual fundraisers. KLEF hosts the Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball Awards Ceremony each March and the Drive 4 Sight Golf Scramble in October and a few smaller events throughout the year. Contributions made to KLEF help us to sustain and continue to grow our vision screening efforts in Kentucky. Annually we screen over 35,000 Kentuckians and we hope to be able to screen 50,000+ a year in the next five years. To do this more equipment, training and manpower is needed. With even a small donation you have the power to give the gift of sight!
There are thousands of men, women and children in the United States in need of organ and tissue transplants. Due to the shortage of donors, only a small percentage of those waiting will actually receive their transplant.
After discussing your wishes with your family, go to the Kentucky Organ Donor Registry at www.donatelifeky.org and complete the online registry form. Completing the Kentucky Organ Donor Registry form ensures that your wishes to help others will be carried out, in compliance with Kentucky’s “First Person Consent law.” Or join the donor registry next time you renew your driver’s license and have the donor heart symbol imprinted on your license.
You can also support donation by purchasing a Donate Life License Plate available now at your County Clerk’s office! Get yours and help spread awareness!
