Executive Director


Job Summary:
This position requires a dynamic and self-driven individual who will be responsible for driving, supporting, and assisting all aspects of fund-raising and relationship management of current and prospective partners. This position supervises a dedicated staff in a wide range of eye care initiatives as well as event planning and management to support those initiatives. This position will expand our service initiatives through new partnerships, cultivation events, professional associations, and networking. A high degree of proficiency and a level of experience in developing and delivering compelling proposals is desired. This position will also interact with and support volunteer engagement to accomplish our mission.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to develop, maintain, and execute an effective strategic fund raising and public relations plan.

  • Assure an organizational culture that leads to ongoing excellence in quality of service, financial performance and teamwork.

  • Build strategic alliances that create opportunities to increase service impact.

  • Maintain effective lines of communication between the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation and our strategic partners.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS or BA from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a non-profit environment.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in program development, fund-raising, or related area.

  • Demonstrated competency in staff development,

  • Experience with donor engagement in a non-profit environment.

  • Proposal development and presentation competency.
