The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation is a proud sponsor of the 2024 USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum and we are excited to make new Lions friends from across the world and reconnect with old friends too! We look forward to sharing our work over the past 70 years with you along with some of the best Kentucky traditions and southern hospitality. Our organization has a long history of serving people in need, as that is what we do as Lions. From our start in 1954 to today, we have had many exciting moments and being a part of the 2024 USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum is something that we have looked forward to for a long time now. We hope that you will share our excitement and help to support our mission to ensure that people in need in Kentucky can continue to receive our services for 70+ years to come.
Donations made during the 2024/USA Canada Lions Leadership Forum will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $10,000) by the Louisville Downtown Lions Club, so your gift and its impact will be doubled thanks to this generous matching gift.
The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation was founded in 1954 by the Louisville Downtown Lions Club and has been governed by the Lions of Kentucky since it's inception. We are committed to filling the gaps that exist for many Kentuckians by providing affordable access to vision services.
Our Mission: The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation provides vision services through education, detection, prevention, treatment and empowerment. Through collaborative partnerships, we enable greater independence and increased quality of life for all Kentuckians while focusing on children and adults in financial need.
Our reach extends across the Commonwealth.
Last year alone KLEF:

provided over 13,200 FREE vision screenings to Kentucky children ages 6 and under

provide over 19,500 FREE vision screenings to Kentucky adults & children over 7 years old

provided financial aid for 41 eye surgeries

provided financial aid for 47 legally blind Louisville area residents

provided referrals to local Lions Club eye glass programs to over 1,000 Kentuckians
